Default Best Secondary for PvP?

Started playing recently and now I have to choose my secondary profession but since I don't have much experience in GW I thought I'd ask around for some advice. I was considering being an axe warrior but I don't know which skills would be most useful for PvP (I want a good secondary for PvP since I don't really care for PvE). By the way, I have Prophecies, Factions and EotN, so no Nightfall skills. Thanks in advance for any help

Hello ,
As an axe warrior , the second profession usually doesn't matter. You could just go W/El with Shock , that's quite a common build. However , for a place such as HA , it might be hard to begin/find a team as axe warrior , and you would rather just play W/A Bbwarrior ( you will hear of it alot there).
But however , you should also consider that you will be able to change sec profession fast ( watch wiki for quests , but i think factions one is th closest) , and that a PvP made character can go anything

You should be getting a multitude of secondary professions. You are not limited to one, as depending on which chapter you start in, you will be able to change your secondary profession later on. (After Nahpui Quarter in Factions, After doing several Profession quests in Prophecies and after completing the 'Hunted' quest in Nightfall. In my PvP experience I've encountered mostly W/E and W/A, Ele secondary for the 'shock' skill to knock down foes and for a Conjure, and Assassin secondary for the so called 'BBwars', warriors who use the Warrior Elite Backbreaker followed by a series of dagger attacks.

I have to say though: GW PvP is quite difficult to get into, especially if you're new and haven't done a lot of PvE. And as suggested above: It's not really a good idea to get a PvE character into PvP if you're not quite wealthy, as if you want to get to the higher tiers of PvP (GvG and HA) you'll need a lot of different weapons to switch to in different situations (i.e. a +10 armor vs lightning shield versus Invoke Lightning spike teams). If you want to get serious about PvP, I would recommend at least leaving a PvP slot open.

Do no let this discourage you though. GW PvP is very deep and interesting to play. I would suggest making a PvE and PvP warrior since all the skills and items you unlock (through identifying unidentified items) in PvE can be remade as many times for free on your PvP character. Also I would advice you to observe (press 'B' ingame) alot of matches and watch the frontline (the warriors) to see what they're doing, get to know the different maps (and objectives) and maybe read some guides on more pvp-orientated forums (teamquitter.com for ex.). Also, playing RA alot will definitely help your basics so don't let people discourage you from doing so.

Good luck and if you have any questions you can pm me ingame if you want;

Break Fu

(I don't know everything about HA specifically, but any general warrior or GvG questions I'd be happy to answer for you)

What Artisan said. Just watching what certain profs do in straight up Team Deathmatch games can be so useful.
Watch the wars, Are they each glued to a single target or are they consistently changing targets? Are they doing one big spike then smaller ones or consistently doing spikes with little to no inbetween?
I'm by no means a great in RA/HA but I've played around a small bit. If you're constantly getting your rump handed to you, don't fret! Just keep it at! :P
